Stock Dividend/Distribution

Dividends and distributions are important components of the stock market, as they allow companies to distribute their profits to shareholders. A dividend or distribution can be paid in the form of securities, either from the same issue or a different one. This can also serve as a way for a company to list a new issuer. The amount, payable and record dates are provided by the issuer, and the ex-dividend date is set by the exchange where the issue is listed.
