Term Certain Payment Option

An annuitant may choose from various options for payment, including the term certain option. With this selection, payments will continue for the minimum of either the number of years specified or the annuitant's lifetime. For instance, if a 10-year term certain annuity is chosen and the annuitant passes away after six years, payments will continue for four more years. This option differs from a life annuity or joint and survivor annuity.
