The benchmark index S&P BSE 500 opened today at 28,116.14 and made its day high at 28,128.90 and it is currently trading in red, down by 0.80%.                       

From the same space, these are the top 3 companies that outperformed the benchmark index and were up by more than 3% today.            

Shares of Metro Brands Limited were trading today with an up move by more than 3.30% on BSE. The scrip closed on Monday at Rs 1,066.65 and opened today at Rs 1,085.95 a piece. Shares touched their day high at Rs 1,111.30 after the surge. The 52-week high of the stock stood at Rs 1,127.90, whereas the 52-week low is Rs 737.00. Presently, promoters are holding a 74.20% stake in the company, whereas the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 8.33% and 17.45%, respectively.                 

Another top player today is J.B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Limited. Shares were trading today with an up move by more than 3.40% on BSE today. The stock opened today at Rs 2,865.40 a piece and touched its fresh 52-week high today at Rs 3,037.70. The 52-week high stood at Rs 3,037.70 whereas the 52-week low stood at Rs 1,817.05. Presently, promoters hold 53.91% stake in the company, whereas the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 28.18% and 17.90%, respectively.             

One more top gainer today which shot up by more than 5.05% is Elgi Equipments Limited. The stock opened at Rs 500.95 and touched its day high today at Rs 538.40 after the surge. On Monday the shares closed at Rs 488.40 a piece. The stock has a 52-week high of Rs 622.95 whereas the 52-week low stood at Rs 355.05. Currently, the promoters hold a 31.19% stake in the company whereas the institutional and non-institutional holdings are 34.20% and 34.61%, respectively.
