Bengaluru-based enterprise voice AI startup Bolna has raised $6.3 million in a seed funding round led by General Catalyst, the company announced on January 20, 2026.
The funding was raised as Indian enterprises continue to increase automation across voice-based business processes.
Other investors in the round included Y Combinator, Blume Ventures, Orange Collective, Pioneer Fund, Transpose Capital and Eight Capital.
Angel investors included Aarthi Ramamurthy, Arpan Sheth, Watsan Madhavan, Ravi Iyer and Taro Fukuyama. Bolna had earlier raised an undisclosed amount from Y Combinator and angel investors.
Enterprises across sectors such as customer support, logistics, recruitment, collections and onboarding handle large volumes of voice interactions each day.
A major portion of this activity continues to rely on legacy IVR systems or human-operated workflows, which are expensive to run and difficult to scale, particularly across India’s multiple languages and regional accents.
Bolna was founded in 2024 by Maitreya Wagh and Prateek Sachan. The company is developing a self-serve platform that enables enterprises to design, deploy and manage voice AI agents without extended implementation timelines or specialised technical teams. The platform currently supports more than 10 Indian languages.
According to the company, the system is built to function under real-world telephony conditions, including background noise and regional speech patterns.
The platform also includes an orchestration layer that routes calls to different AI models based on the use case and language, rather than relying on a single model.
Bolna said the capital will be used to expand its engineering and deployment teams, invest in proprietary AI and machine-learning systems for vernacular voice use cases, and strengthen infrastructure to support high-volume production workloads.
Since its first commercial deployment in May 2025, Bolna has scaled from handling around 1,500 calls per day to over 200,000 daily calls, an increase of more than 13,000%.
The company reported more than 1,050 paying customers across e-commerce, BFSI, logistics, recruitment and education, including Varun Beverages, Spinny and Snabbit.

The seed funding adds to Bolna’s capital base as enterprises continue to expand the use of automated voice systems for routine, high-volume interactions.
