Vayona Energy has won its 1st project order since commencing operations, entering the market with a wind turbine supply agreement for a renewable energy installation in Andhra Pradesh, as per PTI report. The contract establishes the company’s first execution milestone after its recent ownership transition.

Turbine Supply and Contract Scope

The company has entered into a supply arrangement with Oyster Renewable Energy for a wind project located in Kadapa district. The total contracted capacity under this deal stands at 64.8 MW.

As part of the agreement, Vayona Energy said it will "supply 18 SG 3.6-145 (series) wind turbines, totalling 64.8 MW, for a project in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, along with a long-term operations and maintenance contract".

The mandate covers both equipment delivery and ongoing operations and maintenance support, giving the company a lifecycle role in the project rather than a one-time supply assignment.

Ownership Transition and Company Background

Wind turbine generators are central to wind power projects, converting wind energy into usable electricity through integrated mechanical and electrical systems.

The company was formed after TPG and MAVCO Investments, backed by members of the Murugappa family, acquired the wind turbine OEM business from Siemens Gamesa last year and subsequently rebranded it as Vayona Energy.
