Ola Consumer reported a fall in revenue and higher losses for the financial year ended March 2025, as competition in the ride-hailing market continued to affect its business, as per news reports.
The company’s revenue from operations stood at ₹1,171 crore in FY25, down 42% from ₹2,012 crore in the previous financial year.
Losses for the year widened to ₹662 crore, compared with ₹329 crore in FY24, according to filings made by parent company ANI Technologies with the Registrar of Companies.
The mobility segment remained the company’s main source of income during the year. Revenue from ride-hailing operations fell more than 47% to ₹925 crore in FY25 from ₹1,761 crore a year earlier. The segment contributed nearly 79% of total operating revenue.
The company faced increasing competition from Uber and Rapido in both the 3-wheeler and 4-wheeler categories.
Apart from mobility services, Ola Consumer earned ₹61 crore from commerce, logistics and other services. Non-operating income came in at ₹198 crore, mainly through interest earned on fixed deposits and investments. Total income for FY25 stood at ₹1,369 crore.
The slowdown in business was also reflected in the company’s expenditure. Driver-related costs declined 34% to ₹401 crore in FY25 from ₹607 crore in FY24. Employee benefit expenses fell 39% to ₹205 crore during the year.
Despite lower spending, the company’s losses increased as revenue from its core operations weakened. The decline came a year after the company had crossed the ₹2,000 crore revenue mark.
Ola Consumer has begun preparations for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) after receiving approval from its board. In its filings, the company said it has enough liquidity and investments to continue operations and meet financial commitments.
