CloudSEK, a Bengaluru-based cybersecurity firm, has received a $10 million investment from Connecticut Innovations, marking the first time an Indian cybersecurity company has secured funding from a US state-backed venture arm.

CloudSEK Gets Investment from Connecticut Innovations

CloudSEK announced a $10 million (approximately ₹90 crore) funding from Connecticut Innovations, the strategic venture capital division of the State of Connecticut, USA.

This capital forms part of the company's Series B funding round, concluding it after an earlier B1 tranche that saw $19 million raised. The Series B2 component includes both primary and secondary capital.

Founded in 2015 by Rahul Sasi, CloudSEK focuses on predictive cyber threat intelligence and serves clients across banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI), healthcare, government and technology sectors. The company currently supports over 300 enterprise clients globally.

Expansion Plans in US Market

Following the investment, CloudSEK aims to strengthen its operations in the US by expanding its local team from 5 to 15 employees by March 2025 and further growing to 20 within the next 12–18 months.

The roles planned are high-paying and require niche technological expertise. Presently, CloudSEK caters to 20 clients in the US and aims to increase this to 200 within a year's time.

Company Valuation and Workforce

This latest round of funding places CloudSEK’s enterprise valuation at approximately $200 million. To date, the company has raised around $39 million. CloudSEK employs approximately 250 personnel globally and aims to increase this to 300 by March, with 200 employees based in India.

Alison Malloy, Managing Director at Connecticut Innovations, recognised CloudSEK’s strengths during their 2025 VentureClash India pitch event, particularly for solutions that cater to global business cybersecurity needs.

Conclusion

CloudSEK's $10 million funding from Connecticut Innovations marks a significant moment for India's cybersecurity sector, reflecting the company’s operational growth and global credibility.
