As per news report, Amazon India has broadened its ultra-fast delivery service, Amazon Now, to include Gurugram. This expansion marks another step in Amazon's efforts to strengthen its quick commerce footprint across India's major urban areas.
Amazon Now offers delivery of daily essentials within 10 minutes, facilitated by a network of micro fulfilment centres situated near customer neighbourhoods. This service is accessible via the main Amazon app for selected pin codes.
Initially piloted in Bengaluru in December last year, Amazon Now provided a limited range of everyday products, including groceries, personal care items, and small household essentials.
Following the successful pilot in Bengaluru, Amazon expanded the service to Delhi, rolling out Amazon Now in select locations.
In September, the service was further extended to Mumbai. At that time, Amazon had established over 100 micro fulfilment centres across Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai to support the 10-minute delivery promise.
Amazon has recently announced the opening of 2 micro fulfilment centres daily to enable 10-minute deliveries across more neighbourhoods in Bengaluru, Delhi, and Mumbai. The company aims to increase Amazon Now's footprint to over 300 centres by the end of the year, up from around 100 during the festive season.

This expansion coincides with increased activity in the quick commerce sector, with competitors like Zepto, Blinkit, and Instamart intensifying their expansion efforts.
Amazon's rival, Flipkart, entered the space earlier with its quick delivery service, Minutes, in Gurugram and other parts of the NCR region late last year.
Amazon's expansion of its 10-minute delivery service, Amazon Now, to Gurugram signifies its commitment to enhancing its quick commerce capabilities in India. With a growing network of micro fulfilment centres, Amazon continues to compete in the rapidly evolving quick commerce sector.
