Aman Gupta, known for co-founding consumer electronics brand Boat, has launched a venture called Offbeat Studios.

This announcement follows his recent transition to a non-executive role at Boat, amid the company's postponed IPO plans due to auditor scrutiny.

Introduction of Offbeat Studios

On March 3, 2026, Aman Gupta introduced his latest venture, Offbeat Studios, marking a new chapter in his entrepreneurial journey.

Offbeat Studios emerges at a time when Gupta has shifted to a non-executive position on Boat's board, allowing him to focus on fresh endeavours.

Gupta communicated his excitement via a post on the social media platform X, sharing his continued ambition and readiness to embrace new challenges.

Boat's Leadership Transition and IPO Delays

The unveiling of Offbeat Studios coincides with leadership changes at Boat, co-founded by Gupta and Sameer Mehta. While Mehta has moved to an executive director role, COO Gaurav Nayyar has taken over as CEO.

This reshuffle comes amid Boat's deferred IPO plans, initially intended to raise ₹1,500 crore, comprising ₹500 crore in new shares and a ₹1,000 crore sale from existing investors.

Boat's Financial Performance

Despite the leadership changes and IPO postponement, Boat's financial performance has reflected resilience. For the financial year 2024-25, Boat reported a net profit of over ₹60 crore, a stark improvement from the previous year's net loss of ₹80 crore.

However, the company's consolidated revenue saw a slight dip, reaching ₹3,098 crore compared to ₹3,122 crore in the prior year.

Other Entrepreneurial Shifts

Aman Gupta's transition from an active role at Boat aligns with a broader trend observed among entrepreneurs stepping back from initial ventures to explore new opportunities.

This strategic shift often reflects a focus on pursuing emerging market trends and innovation. Gupta's pivot to Offbeat Studios highlights his ongoing drive to adapt and thrive in evolving business landscapes.

Conclusion

Aman Gupta's launch of Offbeat Studios reflects a significant step in his entrepreneurial career, showcasing a willingness to embrace new challenges following his transition within Boat. While Boat navigates its IPO postponement and leadership shifts, Gupta ventures into uncharted territory with Offbeat Studios, signalling continued innovation and business development.
