Tata Power Share Price in Focus; Renewable Arm Commissions 190.5 MW Rajasthan Project

Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has commissioned a 190.5 MW solar project at Kalasar in Bikaner, Rajasthan. TPREL is a subsidiary of Tata Power, as per the exchange filing.
The project has been developed under SJVN Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Tranche-1 and is part of a larger 460 MW FDRE project.
Power Supply to Three Discoms
Electricity from the project will be supplied to Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC), Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), and Noida Power Company Limited (NPCL).
The 190.5 MW capacity has been commissioned as part of the contractual capacity under the wider 460 MW project. The company said the facility combines solar generation with storage and other grid support systems.
Storage and Grid Equipment
The project includes a 115 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Other equipment installed at the site includes a Harmonic Filter Bank and Static Var Generator systems.
Tata Power said the project was executed amid tight timelines and supply chain disruptions that affected the availability of transmission line materials, module mounting structures and other equipment.
Switchyard Completed in Three Months
The switchyard was completed within three months, according to the company. The Harmonic Filter Bank was completed in one month.
These components form part of the infrastructure required for the project, which combines solar capacity with battery storage and other grid-related systems.
Renewable Capacity at 12.4 GW
With the latest commissioning, TPREL's total renewable utility capacity has reached 12.4 GW. Around 6.9 GW is operational, including 5.6 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity.
Another 5.5 GW is under various stages of implementation and is expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 24 months.
