Shilpa Medicare Limited has strengthened its biologics leadership by appointing Dr. Uday N. Harle as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Shilpa Biologicals Private Limited, its wholly owned subsidiary, as per the exchange filings.
The appointment became effective on August 3, 2026, with Dr. Harle also joining the company as a Senior Managerial Personnel.
Dr. Harle holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from RTM Nagpur University, a Master of Science in Pharmacy, and postgraduate diplomas in Business Management and Marketing Management from IGNOU.
He has around 24 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience, including over 18 years in biologics and biosimilars, with more than 14 years in leadership across R&D, clinical development, manufacturing, commercialisation and business management.
Before joining Shilpa Biologicals, Dr. Harle served as Chief Business Officer at Artemis Medicare Services Limited and Premedium Pharma (Apollo Group).
He has also held senior positions at Amneal Group/Kashiv Biosciences, Abbott, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Bharat Serums & Vaccines and Sun Pharma, leading functions across clinical development and research.
Dr. Harle's experience covers portfolio strategy, research and development, CMC, clinical development, manufacturing, commercialisation, CDMO partnerships, and P&L management.
He has worked across biosimilars, novel biologics, peptides, recombinant proteins, CAR-T cell therapies, and medical devices.
He has contributed to over 10 biosimilars and five novel biologics, working with regulators including the USFDA, EMA, MHRA, Health Canada and CDSCO.
Dr. Harle has authored around 40 scientific publications, published two books and holds two patents. He has also received several industry awards recognising his contributions to biopharmaceutical research and development.

As of 03 August 2026, at 12:14 PM, Shilpa Medicare Limited share price was trading at ₹622.45 per share, reflecting a surge of 1.83% from the previous trading session.
With Dr. Uday Harle's appointment as CEO of Shilpa Biologicals, Shilpa Medicare has added an executive with extensive experience across biologics, biosimilars, product development and global pharmaceutical leadership.
