Praj Industries Share Price in Focus; Signs Bio-IBA Commercialisation Agreement with Gevo

Praj Industries has signed a Development & Commercialisation Agreement with Gevo for Bio-Isobutanol, or Bio-IBA, technology in India, as per the exchange filing.
Under the agreement, Praj will have exclusive rights to deploy the technology in India and lead its commercialisation.
Focus On Diesel Blending
The partnership will initially explore Bio-IBA for diesel blending applications.
The company said the technology could be used across transportation, agriculture, mining, construction and industrial operations.
Demonstration Plant Underway
Praj is already establishing India's first commercial Bio-IBA demonstration plant for a leading Oil Marketing Company.
The company is handling the plant's design, engineering, supply and erection using Gevo's licensed technology. The facility is intended to validate production and supply-chain routes for future commercialisation.
Partnership Builds on Decade-Long Work
The latest agreement follows more than a decade of association between Praj and Gevo.
During this period, the companies have worked on adapting Bio-IBA technology to Indian feedstocks and market requirements.
Gevo Sees Scope in India
Gevo CEO Paul Bloom said the agreement creates a framework to develop Bio-IBA opportunities in India, particularly in diesel applications, by combining Gevo's technology with Praj's engineering and market-development capabilities.
Praj founder chairman Dr. Pramod Chaudhari said the agreement establishes a foundation for bringing Bio-IBA to the Indian market and that the technology could become an important renewable fuel solution for the diesel economy.
Bio-IBA Has Other Applications
Beyond diesel, Bio-IBA can also serve as a platform molecule for Sustainable Aviation Fuel and renewable chemicals.
The release cited PPAC data showing India's high-speed diesel consumption at approximately 94.7 million tonnes in FY2025-26.
Praj Industries Share Price Performance
As of 16 September 2026, at 1:13 PM, Praj Industries share price is trading at ₹314.90 per share, reflecting a decline of 0.97% from the previous trading session.
Conclusion
Praj's agreement with Gevo gives it exclusive Bio-IBA technology rights in India, while the demonstration plant provides a testing ground for commercial applications.
