
NTPC Green Energy share price rallied in early trade on July 23, 2026, a day after the company reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, and announced the incorporation of a new renewable energy special purpose vehicle (SPV).
The stock also witnessed strong trading activity, with volume on the BSE surging more than 6.3 times its usual level.
NTPC Green Energy reported a 38.3% year-on-year increase in net profit for Q1 FY27, supported by strong growth in revenue.
Revenue from operations rose 62.7% YoY to ₹1,106.9 crore, compared with ₹680.2 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
EBITDA increased 63.8% to ₹988.7 crore, while the EBITDA margin remained broadly stable at 89.3%, compared with 88.7% a year earlier.

The company's board approved the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary (WOS) or Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to develop renewable energy projects.
According to the company, the SPV will enable the subsequent dilution of equity for captive or group captive project structures catering to commercial and industrial consumers, subject to the required regulatory approvals.
As of July 23, 2026, at 9:51 AM, NTPC Green Energy share price was trading at ₹98.36 per share on the NSE, up 7.73% for the day.
The stock opened at ₹93.80, touched an intraday high of ₹98.40, and a low of ₹92.84. Over the past week, the stock has gained 5.71%, outperforming the Nifty Energy index, which declined 0.14% during the same period.
NTPC Green Energy reported strong Q1 FY27 financial performance, driven by revenue growth and higher profitability. Alongside the earnings, the company's decision to set up a new renewable energy SPV for future captive projects.
