NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) has been selected as the successful bidder in a tender floated by SJVN Limited for a battery energy storage project in Haryana. NLC India made the announcement through a regulatory filing dated September 30, 2026.  

265 MW/530 MWh BESS Project 

The tender covers 265 MW/530 MWh of standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The project will be developed in Haryana under the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme. 

The tender was conducted through tariff-based competitive bidding. NIRL emerged as the successful bidder for the full 265 MW/530 MWh capacity mentioned in the tender.  

Capacity Charge at ₹2.35 Lakh 

As per the filing, NIRL secured the project at a final capacity charge of ₹2,35,000 per MW per month. This is the capacity charge specified in the bid outcome disclosed by the company. 

The filing does not give details of the total project investment, construction period, or expected commissioning date.  

Letter of Award Received 

SJVN Ltd has issued the Letter of Award (LoA) to NIRL for development of the project. The LoA follows NIRL’s selection as the successful bidder in the tender. 

The project is for standalone battery storage and does not include details of any associated power generation capacity in the company’s disclosure.

The filing was signed by Sushanta Kumar Panda, Company Secretary, and Compliance Officer.
