Maruti Suzuki India has added automatic versions to its S-CNG range with the launch of the Swift, Dzire and Baleno S-CNG AMT models. The company introduced the new range on September 18 under its Auto Green Mission.

The new models combine a five-speed AMT with Maruti Suzuki's 1.2-litre Z12E engine. The Dzire has the highest claimed fuel efficiency of the three at 36.47 km/kg.

Three Models Get Automatic S-CNG Option

The Swift, Dzire and Baleno now come with the Z12E S-CNG engine paired with a five-speed AMT. Drivers can also shift gears manually when required, without using a clutch pedal. The engine gets Dual VVT and Idle Start Stop technology.

Fuel efficiency stands at 35.34 km/kg for the Swift, 36.47 km/kg for the Dzire and 34.47 km/kg for the Baleno. All three use a 1,197cc engine, while the CNG tank has a 55-litre water-filling capacity.

Maruti Points To Rising S-CNG Demand

Maruti Suzuki said its S-CNG sales rose 58% during the first quarter compared with the same period last year. July also saw a monthly record, with 83,000 S-CNG vehicles sold.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki, said customers are increasingly looking for automatic driving convenience while retaining fuel efficiency. He added that the new range is expected to contribute to the growing share of clean and green cars in India.

Prices Starts at ₹7.92 Lakh

The Swift has an ex-showroom starting price of ₹7.92 lakh, while the Baleno starts at ₹8.32 lakh and the Dzire at ₹8.53 lakh.
