JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV), part of JBM Auto Ltd, has unveiled its next-generation GALAXY electric luxury coach at the Prawaas 5.0 exhibition in Gandhinagar, as per an exchange filing dated July 10, 2026.
The launch took place in the presence of Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari and JBM Electric Vehicles Chairman Nishant Arya.
According to the company, the model is the country's first indigenously developed electric luxury coach offered in both sleeper and seater formats.
The GALAXY platform will be available in three versions - seater, sleeper, and sleeper-plus-seater. One configuration includes 22 reclining seats, 20 sleeper berths, and an onboard washroom, while another has 24 reclining seats and 20 sleeper berths.
JBM said the coach has been developed for inter-city routes with a combination of higher passenger capacity and larger luggage space. The company added that the platform has completed operational runs exceeding 900 kilometres in a day.
The coach is equipped with modular battery packs supported by regenerative braking and fast-charging capability. It also features electronically controlled air suspension, kneeling and height adjustment for boarding, panoramic windows, USB charging points, individual air-conditioning vents, and reading lights.
Safety equipment includes an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Electronic Braking System (EBS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), hill-hold assist, surveillance cameras and emergency exits.
JBM EV said it has supplied more than 3,300 electric buses across 17 states and over 12 airports in India. The company reported an order book of more than 10,000 electric buses.
Its integrated manufacturing facility in the Delhi-NCR region has an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses. According to the company, its electric bus fleet has covered 450 million electric kilometres and transported over 1.5 billion passengers.
As of July 10, 2026, 1:55 pm, JBM Auto Ltd share price was trading at ₹687.10, up 2.55% from the previous closing price.
The new GALAXY coach broadens JBM EV's range of electric passenger vehicles. The launch adds a new offering for inter-city operations alongside the company's existing electric bus business.
