Infosys Share Price in Focus; Announces AI Research Partnership with Columbia University

Infosys has entered into a strategic collaboration with Columbia University to work on artificial intelligence research and applications.  

The company announced the partnership through an exchange filing, saying the programme would cover research, workshops and co-innovation sessions with clients across industries. 

Enterprise AI Centre  

The agreement includes the Infosys Topaz – Columbia University Enterprise AI Center, led by Columbia Engineering. The centre is focused on research into AI applications and the use of generative AI and agentic AI technologies by enterprises. 

The centre is located at Infosys’ One World Trade Center office in New York City. It will bring together company executives, research and development leaders, students, and technology practitioners working in AI. 

Three Research Areas  

The joint programme covers three main areas. The first is AI-first experiences and processes, including voice and free-form text interactions and changes to existing business processes. 

The second area is responsible and sustainable AI. This includes regulatory requirements, ethical concerns, cybersecurity, energy consumption, transparency, and explainability. 

The third area covers AI for marketing, including personalised customer experiences, campaign effectiveness, predictive modelling, and generative content creation. Workshops and research with clients are also part of the programme.

Infosys’ Business Operations  

Infosys has more than 325,000 employees and operates across 59 countries. The company has more than four decades of experience working with global enterprises and provides business consulting and technology services. 

The company said the partnership is aimed at developing and using AI applications across business settings.
