IndiGo Share Price Gains as It Hikes Ancillary Charges for Infant Travel, Baggage and Priority Services

IndiGo has implemented revised charges for several ancillary services, affecting domestic travellers and international routes, as per news reports.  

Fees for infant travel, unaccompanied minor assistance, excess baggage, priority check-in and boarding, along with travel certificates, have been adjusted upward. 

Additional Costs for Infant Travel and Unaccompanied Minors 

The Charges for infant travel have increased from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000, applicable for ages from 3 days to 2 years without the allocation of a separate seat.  

The fee for unaccompanied minors on domestic flights has gone from ₹5,000 to ₹5,999, with international service priced at ₹12,999. 

Higher Fees for Excess Baggage and Priority Services 

Excess baggage charges have risen to ₹800 per kg from the previous ₹700, resulting in a ₹100 increase per additional kilogram.  

For instance, carrying 5 kg over the permissible limit will now cost ₹4,000. Priority check-in and boarding via the Fast Forward service on domestic routes now costs ₹650, up from ₹450. International rates have been adjusted to ₹850 per sector.

Revised Fees for Other Services 

Additionally, the charge for travel certificates, used for purposes such as reimbursement and GST claims, has increased from ₹200 to ₹300. These updates are part of IndiGo’s ongoing process of reviewing service charges.

As of September 18, 2026, at 10:53 AM, InterGlobe Aviation share price on NSE was trading at ₹4,926.00, up by 1.67% from the previous closing price.
