Balkrishna Industries reported higher earnings for the quarter ended June 2026, helped by growth in tyre sales across key markets, as per the exchange filings.
Standalone net sales increased 25% year-on-year to ₹3,444.70 crore, while Off-Highway Tyre (OHT) sales volumes rose 16.2% to 93,770 tonnes. The company said the volume growth was higher than its earlier expectation of 10-12% for the quarter.
Profit after tax (PAT) stood at ₹432.10 crore, up 50% from the year-ago quarter. EBITDA rose to ₹703 crore from ₹656 crore a year earlier.
However, operating profitability softened during the quarter. EBITDA margin came in at around 21%, compared with 23.8% in the same period last year, while it was lower by 40 basis points on a sequential basis.
The OHT segment remained the company's largest business, accounting for nearly 90% of total revenue during the quarter. Balkrishna Industries said business conditions in Europe remained stable, while the domestic market recorded stronger demand.
The carbon black business contributed the remaining 10% of volumes. The company continues to use captive carbon black production to support its tyre manufacturing operations.
The company is proceeding with its previously announced capital expenditure programme of ₹6,800 crore, scheduled to be completed by FY29. The investment covers capacity expansion, manufacturing infrastructure, automation and sustainability projects.
As part of the plan, OHT tyre capacity is being increased to 425,000 MTPA through a 35,000 MTPA expansion and operational improvements. Captive carbon black capacity is also being expanded to 360,000 MTPA.
Balkrishna Industries began commercial supplies of Truck Bus Radial tyres in April 2026. It has also introduced selected two-wheeler tyre products for the domestic market.
The board declared a first interim dividend of ₹4 per equity share of face value ₹2 for FY27. The company has also retained its target of increasing revenue by 2.2 times by 2030, with the on-highway tyre business expected to contribute 20% of total revenue by the end of the decade.
