- Bharti Airtel, India’s first spam-fighting network, has successfully flagged a remarkable 8 billion spam calls and 0.8 billion spam SMS messages within just two and a half months of launching its AI-powered spam protection solution.
- The company has awarded a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar extension deal to Ericsson for 4G and 5G RAN products and solutions. Under the new contract, Ericsson will deploy centralized RAN and Open RAN-ready solutions, facilitating network transformation and enhancing coverage and capacity for Airtel’s customers.
Bharti Airtel Q2 FY25 Results
Bharti Airtel reported a 167% surge in net profit for Q2 FY25, rising to ₹3,593 crore from ₹1,341 crore a year earlier. This growth was driven by strong performances in both its India and Africa businesses. Revenue from operations for the July-September quarter increased by 12% year-on-year, reaching ₹41,473 crore.
In India, Airtel’s revenue grew 16.9% year-on-year to ₹31,561 crore, propelled by an 18.5% increase in mobile services revenue. This was fueled by tariff hikes and increased smartphone penetration. The Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) for its India mobile segment rose to ₹233, up from ₹203 a year ago.
