Nestle India has officially announced the record date for its historic first-ever bonus share issue, marking a significant milestone for shareholders. The announcement follows the company's successful Extraordinary General Meeting held in July 2025, where shareholders approved the bonus issue proposal and authorised capital increase.
Nestle India has fixed Friday, August 8, 2025 as the record date for determining entitlement of equity shareholders for the purpose of issue of bonus equity shares in the ratio of 1:1. This means shareholders will receive one bonus equity share of face value of ₹1 each for every one fully paid up equity share of face value of ₹1 each ranking pari passu in all respects.
The bonus issue was approved by equity shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meeting held on July 24, 2025.
Shareholders holding Nestle India equity shares as on the record date of August 8, 2025, will see their shareholding double without any additional investment. For example, if an investor holds 500 shares, they will receive 500 additional bonus shares, taking their total holding to 1,000 shares.
LIC, among the top public shareholders of Nestle with 4,50,33,003 equity shares representing a 4.67% stake, stands to benefit significantly from this bonus issue. LIC will receive an additional 4,50,33,003 free shares, doubling its total holding to 9,00,66,006 equity shares.
The company will issue 96,41,57,160 bonus equity shares with a face value of ₹1 each, effectively doubling the paid-up share capital. The bonus equity shares will be issued out of the retained earnings as per the audited financial statements of the Company for the year ended March 31, 2025.
The authorised capital has been increased from ₹100 crore to ₹200 crore to accommodate the bonus issue. This represents Nestle India's first bonus issue since its listing, marking a historic corporate action for the FMCG giant.

On July 30, 2025, Nestlé India share price opened at ₹2,230.00 on NSE, above the previous close of ₹2,223.70. During the day, it surged to ₹2,236.20 and dipped to ₹2,222.60. The stock is trading at ₹2,225.10 as of 9:17 AM. The stock registered a marginal change of 0.06%.
