Mappls, the flagship navigation app of MapmyIndia, has launched India-first features to make driving safer, easier, and more efficient. The update includes AI-powered live traffic signal timers and tools to track toll cost savings under the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) Annual Toll Pass.
Mappls is now the first app in India to show live countdowns for traffic signals during navigation. Over 125 smart traffic signals in Bengaluru have been integrated with the app, displaying real-time red, amber, and green timers up to 500 meters ahead.
This feature helps drivers anticipate stops more accurately, reduce stress in heavy traffic, and improve the estimated time of arrival (ETA). The live signal timers will eventually be rolled out to other cities across India, enhancing urban traffic management and smart mobility.
The app also allows drivers to monitor potential toll savings using the NHAI Annual Toll Pass. Users can track the exact distance traveled on toll roads, making budgeting easier and trips more transparent. The Annual Toll Pass can be purchased via the RajmargYatra mobile app.
The new features help commuters save time, reduce unnecessary stops, and plan journeys more efficiently. Live signal timers provide predictability in traffic-heavy areas, while toll tracking ensures better cost management. Together, these features support a smarter and more organized road ecosystem in India.
The updates are currently available on the iOS version of the Mappls app, with Android users set to receive the features soon. These innovations showcase how technology can improve both city navigation and highway travel, making journeys smoother and stress-free.
