DPIIT Inks MoU with Primus Partners to Strengthen Startup Ecosystem

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as of October 24, 2025, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Primus Partners Pvt. Ltd. The agreement focuses on improving coordination and providing structured support for startups in India.

Purpose of the Agreement

The MoU aims to assist early-stage and growth-stage product startups. It includes plans for capacity-building programmes, expert mentorship, policy awareness workshops, and market access initiatives. The goal is to make startup support more structured and accessible.

Implementation Focus

DPIIT and Primus Partners will jointly identify key challenges faced by startups and design targeted programmes to address them. The collaboration will help connect entrepreneurs with industry networks, mentors, and technology resources to improve their business readiness and scalability.

At the signing, Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary at DPIIT, said the collaboration would help bridge gaps between innovation, industry, and policy. Shri Davinder Sandhu, Co-Founder and Chairman of Primus Partners, said the partnership will enable regular mentoring, knowledge-sharing sessions, and stronger engagement between startups and experts.

Broader Context

DPIIT runs several initiatives under the Startup India programme, which currently has over 1.5 lakh recognised startups across sectors. This MoU adds to ongoing efforts by bringing in private sector collaboration to strengthen institutional and market linkages for startups.
