Ola Krutrim of Ola Electric has cut around 50 jobs from its linguistics team. According to the ET report, the roles affected include team leads and transcribers working on regional languages such as Bengali, Malayalam, and Punjabi. The company stated that the current phase of its in-house data annotation project has been completed.

Third Round of Job Cuts This Year

As per news reports, this is the third layoff round at the Bengaluru-based startup in 2025. In June 2025, dozens of employees from the linguistics division were let go. A month later, more than 100 jobs were cut as part of a restructuring exercise. With the latest move, the company has eliminated close to 200 positions so far this year.

Team Size and Senior Exits

As per news reports, the linguistics team earlier had about 600 employees. After the layoffs, the headcount has come down to around 400. Alongside these cuts, the company has also seen senior-level departures. Since April, 6 executives, including leaders from AI data, cloud architecture, corporate finance, and software engineering, have stepped down.
