Upper Circuit Stocks Today – 18 October, 2023

On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading lower with the Sensex down around 176 points or 0.26% at 66,252 and the Nifty-50 around 38 points or 0.19% at 19,775. About 1,836 shares have advanced, 1,562 declined, and 164 are unchanged on the BSE. 

Top gainers and losers on the BSE Sensex index are as follows:

The top Sensex gainers were Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Tata Motors Ltd and ITC Ltd, whereas the top Sensex losers were Bajaj FinServ Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd.  

The BSE Metals Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Power Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Metals Index soared 0.55% led by Hindalco Industries Ltd and National Aluminium Ltd while the BSE Power Index was down 0.42% dragged down by ABB India Ltd and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.  

The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.02% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.52%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Sun TV Networks Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Apollo Microsystems Ltd and Orient Cement Ltd.  

In the pre-opening session, these 3 stocks were trending: Astra Microwave Products Ltd, Newgen Software Technologies Ltd and IRB Infrastructure Developer Ltd.
