Nifty 50 and Sensex: Mid-Day Market Review

On November 8, 2024, the benchmark indices Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex were trading in the red in the afternoon, extending losses for the second trading session in a row. The fall came despite positive global cues — mainly the US Fed slashing interest rates for the 2nd consecutive time.
At 01:00 PM, Nifty 50 fell 0.25% to 24,139.05 while Sensex fell 0.16% to 79,411.51. 27 out of 50 stocks on Nifty 50 were trading in the red, with top losers including Coal India, Asian Paints and Shriram Finance.
Sectoral Trend
Around 01:00 PM, only Nifty IT, NIfty Healthcare and Nifty Consumer Services were in green. Nifty Oil & Gas and Nifty Realty tanked up to 2%.
