Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund Adds 13 Stocks in September, Including DLF, Bharti Airtel and Indus Towers

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund added shares of 13 companies to its portfolio in September, including DLF, Bharti Airtel and Indus Towers, according to The Economic Times news report citing its monthly portfolio disclosure.  

The fund also increased its holdings in several other companies and sold its entire stake in The Great Eastern Shipping Company.  

The fund purchased 3.90 crore shares of DLF, taking its total holding to 5.27 crore shares from 1.37 crore shares in August. It added 12.58 lakh shares of Bharti Airtel, raising its holding to 2.40 crore shares. 

Petronet LNG and Indraprastha Gas 

Petronet LNG recorded the largest addition among the other stocks purchased during the month. The fund bought 69.84 lakh shares, taking its total holding to 3.03 crore shares from 2.34 crore shares in August. 

The fund added 62.79 lakh shares of Indus Towers, increasing its holding to 71.45 lakh shares. It also purchased 62.66 lakh shares of Indraprastha Gas. 

Its holding in Mahindra & Mahindra increased by 12.77 lakh shares to 1.91 crore shares, compared with 1.78 crore shares in August. The fund also bought 6.41 lakh shares of CIE Automotive India and 5.26 lakh shares of Mahanagar Gas. 

Other stocks in which the fund increased its holdings were Bajaj Holdings & Investment, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, EID Parry India, Maharashtra Scooters and Nesco. 

Great Eastern Shipping Exit 

The fund sold all 12.73 lakh shares of The Great Eastern Shipping Company held in its portfolio. It did not reduce its holdings in any other company during September. 

Its positions in 20 stocks remained unchanged. These included Axis Bank, CDSL, HCL Technologies, ICRA, Infosys, ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Coal India and TCS. 

Portfolio and Assets Under Management 

The fund held 33 stocks at the end of September, down from 34 in August. Its assets under management stood at ₹1.45 lakh crore. 

Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund invests across large-cap, mid-cap and small-cap stocks. Its performance is benchmarked against the Nifty 500 TRI. 

The fund house reported no change in the credit quality of its portfolio securities. The holdings continued to carry AAA long-term or A1+ short-term ratings. Cash, debt and money market instruments, and arbitrage positions accounted for around 9.77% of the portfolio.

Conclusion 

The fund increased its holdings in 13 stocks and exited The Great Eastern Shipping Company in September. Its portfolio comprised 33 stocks, with assets under management of ₹1.45 lakh crore.
