On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the NIFTY50 index witnessed a strong recovery from lower levels and settled above 24,300 mark. Here’s the list of top gainers and losers.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the NIFTY50 index opened lower and touched an intraday low of 24,115.45.  

From the lower levels, the index staged a smart recovery of over 200 points, aided by Closing Auction Session (CAS), and finally settled the session with gains of 115.50 points or 0.48% at 24,334.55.  

Advance Decline Ratio of NIFTY50 on August 25, 2026  

The advance-decline ratio for the NIFTY50 index remained strong, with 34 constituents out of the 50 ending the session in the green, while 16 ended in the red.  

Here is the list of the top gainers and loser from NIFTY50 index for August 25, 2026.  

Top Gainers on August 25, 2026 

Adani Enterprises emerged as the top gainer on August 25, 2026, as its share price jumped 3.72% to ₹3,110 per share on the NSE. The total traded volume on the NSE stood at 20,22,632 shares.  

Max Healthcare ranked as the second top gainer, with its share price advancing 2.57% to ₹1,016 per share on the NSE. The total trade volume on the NSE stood at 18,89,326 shares. 

Apollo Hospital was third in the list of top gainers as the stock price rallied 2.15% to ₹8,889 per share on the NSE. The total traded volume on the NSE stood at 2,55,193 shares.  

Top Losers on August 25, 2026 

HDFC Life ended lower by 1.13% at ₹546.70 per share on the NSE. The total traded volume on the NSE stood at 22,61,728 shares. 

Cipla’s share price declined 1.11% at ₹1,422 per share on the NSE. The total traded volume on the NSE stood at 7,98,787 shares.  

ONGC’s share price fell by 1.08% to ₹234 per share on the NSE. The total traded volume on the NSE stood at 1,21,18,242 shares.

Conclusion  

The NIFTY50 index staged strong recovery from the day’s low to end the session in positive territory on August 25, 2026. Adani Enterprises, Max Healthcare and Apollo Hospital emerged among the top gainers, while HDFC Life, Cipla and ONGC were among top losers for the day.
