The NIFTY50 extended its fall for the seventh straight session on August 19, 2026. The index opened at level of 24,152.05, touched an intraday low of 24,025.65 and finally settle at 24,048.55, down by 0.32% or 76.60 points.  

The advance decline ratio of NIFTY50 index was titled in favour of declines, as 34 stocks ended in the red while 16 stocks closed in the green.

Top Gainers of NIFTY50 on August 19, 2026 

HCL Tech share price ended higher by over 2% at ₹1,324.80 despite weakness in the market. The stock emerged as the top gainer among the NIFTY50 constituents. The total traded volume on NSE stood at 15,76,837.  

JSW Steel ranked second among the gainers. JSW Steel share price gained 1.44% at ₹1,285.80, while the total traded volume on NSE stood at 9,49,048.  

Sun Pharma share price rose by 1.33% to ₹1,900. The total traded volume on NSE stood at 14,84,726 on August 19, 2026.  

Top Losers of NIFTY50 Index on August 19, 2026 

Max Healthcare Institute share price fell by 1.72% at ₹997, making it the top loser in the NIFTY50 index. Total traded volume on NSE stood at 12,80,237.  

Coal India share price declined by 1.70% to ₹400 per share. The total traded volume on NSE stood at 59,15,590.  

Power Grid Corporation of India share price slipped by 1.68% to ₹263.50 per share on NSE. The total traded volume stood at 94,11,392.
