On August 26, Indian markets closed lower. The Sensex dropped 849 points to 80,786, and the Nifty slipped 256 points to finish at 24,712.

Here are stocks to watch today: 

IndiGo

Rakesh Gangwal and his family trust plan to sell up to 3.1% stake in InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo). The block deal, worth around ₹7,028 crore, includes 1.21 crore shares at a floor price of ₹5,808 per share, about 4% below Tuesday’s closing price.

Vishal Mega Mart

BNP Paribas Financial Markets sold 5.53 crore shares, while Integrated Core Strategies (Asia) sold 2.41 crore shares of Vishal Mega Mart. Together, 7.94 crore shares (1.7% of the company) were offloaded for ₹1,213 crore.

Biocon Pharma

Biocon Pharma, a subsidiary of Biocon, received tentative approval from the US FDA for Sitagliptin tablets (25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg). The drug helps manage blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

TCS

Tata Consultancy Services is setting up a new unit called AI and Services Transformation by merging its AI-related teams. Amit Kapur will lead the unit as Chief AI and Services Transformation Officer, starting September 1.

Tata Steel

Tata Steel has invested ₹3,100 crore in its Singapore-based subsidiary, T Steel Holdings, to support ongoing operations and expansion plans.

Oil India & BPCL

Oil India and Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) have formed a 50:50 joint venture to build a gas distribution network in Arunachal Pradesh. The project includes setting up CNG stations and supplying PNG to homes, businesses, and industries.

United Breweries

United Breweries is expanding its Nizam Brewery in Telangana by adding a new canning line. This will raise capacity by 0.4 million hectolitres, boosting production of Kingfisher and Heineken beers to meet growing demand.
