NTPC Green Energy Limited announced the successful commissioning of the fourth part of the Khavda Solar Energy Project in Bhuj, Gujarat. The new capacity of 37.95 MW is part of the 300 MW project under the 450 MW Hybrid Tranche V scheme. This addition has been declared on commercial operation effective 19 October 2025, 00:00 Hrs.
Prior phases of the Khavda Solar Project were commissioned earlier in 2025. The first part of 142.2 MW became operational on 28 June 2025, the second part of 32.8 MW on 30 June 2025, and the third part of 49.125 MW on 22 August 2025. With the commissioning of the fourth part, the total commercial capacity of the Khavda project stands at 262.075 MW.
With this addition, the current commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increased to 7,515.725 MW, and the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group now reaches 7,553.675 MW. The commissioning of this solar capacity strengthens NTPC Green Energy’s renewable portfolio and supports its continued expansion in solar power generation.
On October 20, 2025, NTPC Green Energy share price (NSE: NTPCGREEN) opened at ₹100.47, touching the day’s low at ₹99.56, as of 9:42 AM on the NSE.
