
Nokia Corporation has expressed interest in expanding its presence in Karnataka by setting up a Global Capability Centre (GCC) and additional research centres, following high-level discussions with the State government at the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos.
Industries Minister M.B. Patil said Nokia, which already operates its largest global research centre in Bengaluru and has been associated with Karnataka for over 25 years, is exploring expansion opportunities across the State, including Tier-2 cities.
The government has assured full support for Nokia’s future investment and expansion plans, reinforcing Karnataka’s positioning as a preferred destination for global technology and innovation-led investments.
The Minister also reiterated the State government’s commitment to supporting the World Economic Forum’s ‘Yes–BLR UpLink’ initiative, which seeks to develop the ‘Yes Bengaluru’ programme on sustainable urban development into a globally recognised platform for government–industry collaboration.
Separately, the government engaged with global cybersecurity firm Cloudflare regarding potential participation in the ‘KWIN City’ project and future expansion. U.S.-based space technology company Vast Space also expressed interest in collaborating with Karnataka in areas such as space technology, advanced manufacturing and innovation-driven initiatives.
Additionally, Crescent Enterprises of the UAE and U.S.-based aerospace firm Voyager Technologies conveyed interest in partnership opportunities, with Voyager also proposing collaboration with ISRO on space technology and research initiatives.

The engagements at Davos underline Karnataka’s growing global appeal as a hub for technology, innovation and advanced manufacturing, while strengthening its international investment outreach.
