On September 25,2025, Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Ltd, introduced its new 10ft and 20ft containerised Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), enhancing its clean energy portfolio and reinforcing India's energy storage infrastructure.
The newly launched systems come with air-cooled, modular rack-based architecture and offer energy capacities from 241 kWh to 3 MWh. Built at JEM’s Indore and Bangalore plants, these battery systems are optimised for DG replacement, solar storage, energy shifting, and backup support for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sectors.
The 10ft BESS unit has already been supplied to Greenlit, a Mumbai-based Recube subsidiary, via GMMCO, a C.K. Birla Group company.
JEM has developed the BESS completely in-house, including battery manufacturing, container fabrication, and system integration. This vertical integration positions JEM as one of the few Indian companies with end-to-end control over energy storage product design. The company plans to scale its Indore plant’s annual capacity from 1 GWh to 5 GWh within 3 years to meet growing demand.

JEM is set to export its first 20ft containerised BESS to Africa by October. Additionally, the company will soon introduce liquid-cooled systems for grid-scale applications. With standardised, robust design and ease of transport, the new solutions are expected to serve diverse geographies and use cases.
The 10ft BESS features 241 kWh to 964 kWh capacity, 200 kW AC output, 440 VAC voltage, and a 10-year lifecycle. It is air-cooled and modular, designed for mobile ESS deployment, DG replacement, and solar energy storage.
JEM’s launch contributes to India’s Net Zero 2070 goals by facilitating reliable, round-the-clock clean energy. The initiative supports carbon footprint reduction across industries and strengthens India’s energy resilience through scalable, indigenous solutions.
On September 25, 2025, Jupiter Wagons share price opened at ₹327.30 on NSE, near the previous close of ₹327.30. During the day, it surged to ₹331.70 and dipped to ₹325.20. The stock is trading at ₹326.85 as of 12:45 PM. The stock registered a marginal change of -0.14%.
Over the past week, it has declined by 3.80%, over the past month, it has moved up by 2.28%, and over the past 3 months, it has declined by 14.46%.
Jupiter Electric Mobility’s latest BESS launch underlines its commitment to clean energy and domestic manufacturing. With capacities up to 3 MWh, vertical integration, and strategic partnerships, JEM is poised to lead the energy storage revolution and enable India's transition to sustainable power systems.
