India's electric vehicle (EV) retail sales reached a record high in June 2026, reflecting strong adoption across vehicle segments. According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA), EV retail sales increased nearly 63% year-on-year (YoY) to 3,06,220 units, marking the highest monthly sales recorded by the industry.

The growth came despite a delayed monsoon and a seasonally weaker demand period. During the month, EVs accounted for more than 12% of total vehicle retail sales, marking the first time EV penetration crossed this milestone.
