FINNIFTY Gains 0.67% to 26,773.5 on August 3, 2026; Driven by NBFCs and Private Banks

The Nifty Financial Services Index (FINNIFTY) is experiencing positive momentum today, with the Last Traded Price (LTP) at 26,773.5 as of August 3, 2026, at 3:18 PM.  

This indicates an increase of 179.45 points or 0.67% from its previous close of 26,594.05. The index opened at 26,807.25, reaching an intraday high of 26,915.00 before settling slightly lower.  

Trading volume is substantial, with 139.62 million shares exchanged and a total trade value of ₹13,518.09 crore. 

NBFCs and Private Banks Lead the Advance 

Key non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) and select private banks are propelling the index upwards. Shriram Finance leads with an LTP of 1,079.90, up 3.17%.  

Bajaj Finserv is trading 2.65% higher at 2,082.90. Max Financial Services (MFSL) has increased by 2.33% to 1,534.00. Jio Finance is up by 2.07%, trading at 261.80.  

Axis Bank is outperforming its peers with a 1.91% rise, reaching an LTP of 1,253.00. Other contributors include ICICI Bank (+1.61%) and SBI Life Insurance Company (+1.73%). 

Major Heavyweights Subdued 

Despite the index's upward trend, some heavily weighted components show muted activity. State Bank of India (SBIN) has a modest gain of 0.71%, trading at 1,034.70. HDFC Bank is up 0.41% to 751.20, while Bajaj Finance is almost flat with a 0.07% increase at 1,142.00.

Selling Pressure on Muthoot Finance & Exchange Peers 

While the broader index remains positive, some financial counters face intraday declines. Muthoot Finance is the steepest laggard, dropping 7.33% to 2,890.90.  

BSE has decreased by 1.95%, trading at 3,575.00. Power sector financial entities PFC and REC are also down, with PFC falling 1.57% to 417.70 and REC decreasing by 1.27% to 368.20. LIC Housing Finance has slipped by 1.26%, with its current level at 516.50. 

Conclusion 

The Nifty Financial Services Index has gained 0.67%, with a Last Traded Price of 26,773.5. NBFCs and private banks are leading the advance, while some major components remain subdued. MUTHOOTFIN and other financial counters face selling pressure.
