
Aether Industries Ltd. and Dow Chemical International Pvt. Ltd. (Dow India) have announced a joint research programme to develop new manufacturing technologies for silicones in India.
The collaboration, announced on July 31, 2026, aims to strengthen domestic innovation and create advanced manufacturing capabilities for silicone materials.
Silicones are high-performance materials used in a wide range of industries, including construction, transportation, electronics, healthcare and personal care.
Through this collaboration, both companies aim to develop indigenous manufacturing technologies that could support future commercial production in India and reduce dependence on imported technologies.
The research programme will be jointly carried out at Aether Industries' research and pilot facilities in Surat, Gujarat.
The companies will focus on research, process development and pilot-scale testing before exploring commercial-scale manufacturing opportunities.
The agreement also lays the foundation for a long-term strategic partnership, including the possible commercialisation and industrial-scale production of technologies developed through the programme.
Dr Aman Desai, Co-Founder and Director (Research and Operations) at Aether Industries, said the company is pleased to partner with Dow as its exclusive research collaborator for the programme.
He added that Aether's expertise in chemistry and process technology, combined with Dow's global experience in silicone applications, is expected to help develop innovative manufacturing technologies while supporting India's growing silicone materials market.
Aether Industries Ltd. is a specialty chemicals manufacturer based in Surat, Gujarat. The company produces advanced intermediates and specialty chemicals for industries such as pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, material sciences, and oil and gas. It also provides contract research and manufacturing services (CRAMS).

On July 31, 2026, Aether Industries share price (NSE: AETHER) was trading at ₹1,564.70, up 4.96% or ₹73.90 in the intraday session. The stock opened at ₹1,511.50 and touched an intraday high of ₹1,614.40, which also marked its 52-week high, after falling to a low of ₹1,492.20 during the session.
