Closing Bell: 21 out of 30 Constituent Stocks of BSE Sensex Settled in Red

On October 15, 2024, the Indian equity indices settled in red. Nifty 50 was down 0.28% and closed at 25,057.35 while Sensex ended down 0.19% to 81,820.12. Nifty Bank was up 0.17% to 51,906.00, and Nifty 500 was flat and ended at 23,735.70, up 0.04%. The volatility indicator Nifty VIX was up by 0.05% to 13.00, reflecting a rise in volatility.
Sectoral Performance
On October 15, Nifty Realty and Nifty Media ended in green with rise of 2.05% and 0.62%, respectively. Nifty Metal, Nifty Auto and Nifty Pharma closed with a fall of 1.44%, 0.83% and 0.52%, respectively.
Top Gainer and Losers
BPCL, ICICI Bank, Bharti Airtel, Britannia and Asian Paints were the top gainers for the day, while HDFC Life, Wipro, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finance, and Hindalco were the top losers on the NSE.
Oil Prices
On October 15, 2024, at 03:58 PM, Brent Crude stood at $73.52, reflecting a fall of 5.09%.
