BlackRock to Invest ₹3,000 Crore in Aditya Birla Renewables

Aditya Birla Group has secured a major investment from BlackRock for its renewable energy business under Grasim. The deal values the platform at ₹14,600 crore and strengthens the group’s long term clean energy expansion plans, as per news reports.
Key Development: BlackRock Joins the Renewables Platform
The investment demonstrates strong global interest in Aditya Birla Renewables, which has a 4.3 GW portfolio across ten states covering solar, wind, hybrid and floating solar projects.
Earlier, several global investors including Nebras Power, Alberta Investment Management Corporation and BlackRock Global Infrastructure Partners had examined similar opportunities.
BlackRock’s participation follows its acquisition of Global Infrastructure Partners last year, creating one of the world’s largest infrastructure investment platforms with assets exceeding $180 billion.
Strategic Positioning: Groupwide Attraction of Private Capital
The Aditya Birla Group continues to attract major global investors across its businesses. Past investments include Advent International and PremjiInvest in Aditya Birla Capital, GIC in Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail, and Abu Dhabi Investment Authority in Aditya Birla Health Insurance.
These partnerships reflect a broader strategy of using long term external capital while retaining strategic control.
