The Union Budget 2026 for fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27) will be presented on Sunday, February 1. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will deliver the budget at 11:00 AM IST, marking her record ninth budget presentation.

Stock Markets to Remain Open

For investors wondering whether the stock markets will be open on the day, the answer is yes. Both the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will operate as usual. The pre-open session will run from 9:00 AM to 9:15 AM, followed by the regular trading session, which will conclude at 3:30 PM.

Commodity Markets Also Open

Commodity markets will also remain open for trading on Budget Day. Special arrangements have been made on the Multi-Commodity Exchange (MCX) to allow seamless trading. The key trading window for commodity contracts will be from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, similar to a normal market day.
