Adani Group-owned Navi Mumbai International Airport is preparing to commence international operations from July 15, 2026, marking a major milestone in the airport's expansion plans, as per a PTI news report.
The development will include both international passenger services and international freighter operations, further strengthening the airport's role in India's aviation and logistics network.
International Flights Expected from July 15, 2026
According to PTI reports, international passenger services are expected to begin from the greenfield airport on July 15.
The launch comes months after the airport started domestic commercial flight operations in December 2025.
Cargo Operations to Commence Simultaneously
Alongside passenger services, the airport is also set to begin handling international cargo operations. It is expected that freighter services will gradually scale up to around 18 weekly flights as operations expand.
IndiGo And Air India Express to Operate Services
The airport management indicated that IndiGo and Air India Express are expected to operate international flights from the facility.
The addition of international routes is expected to improve connectivity for passengers travelling through the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
Regulatory Preparations Near Completion
Authorities have been carrying out readiness assessments ahead of the launch of international operations. The key regulatory processes and operational trials related to customs, courier, and cargo services are progressing toward completion.
Passenger Traffic Expected to Rise Sharply
The airport currently handles around 20,000 passengers daily and records nearly 150 arrivals and departures each day.
Management expects daily passenger traffic to increase to around 50,000 by the end of the year, while daily air traffic movements could rise to approximately 380.
Airport Receives Global Recognition
Earlier this month, Navi Mumbai International Airport was included in the Prix Versailles World's Most Beautiful Airports 2026 list.
The recognition placed the airport among a select group of aviation hubs receiving international architectural and design acclaim.
