HCLTech Expands Engineering Services with Strategic Acquisition

HCL Technologies Ltd. (HCLTech) has officially completed its acquisition of specific assets from the Communications Technology Group (CTG) of Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE). This strategic move enhances HCLTech’s engineering capabilities and expands its presence in the global communication service providers (CSPs) market.
Strengthening Global Presence in the CSP Market
The acquisition broadens HCLTech’s footprint in the CSP market, extending its reach across North America, Latin America, Europe, and the Asia Pacific, including Japan.
Through this deal, HCLTech has secured direct relationships with 20 of the top 30 global CSPs. Additionally, the integration of over 1,500 product engineering specialists from CTG strengthens its nearshore delivery capabilities in key regions like India, China, and Japan.
Boosting Engineering and Digital Services
HCLTech views this acquisition as a catalyst for accelerating its growth in digital services. Anil Ganjoo, Chief Growth Officer of HCLTech’s technology, media, and telecommunications industries, emphasised that combining HCLTech’s engineering strengths with CTG’s advanced capabilities would enhance partnerships with leading CSPs globally.
In addition to expanding its global presence, HCLTech has also been advancing its technological offerings. In November, it launched HCLTech AI Force for GitHub Copilot on the Visual Studio Marketplace. This integration aims to optimise software development workflows and improve code performance.
