These include implementing the 7th Pay Commission for state employees, offering free bus travel for women, and introducing the Annapurna Bhandar scheme.
The West Bengal cabinet has approved the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, a move that seeks to align the state's pay scale with those of the central government.
This decision aims to bridge the existing gap in salaries between state and central government employees, thereby addressing a long-standing issue.
The Adhikari-led cabinet has also introduced the Annapurna Bhandar scheme, under which ₹3,000 will be provided monthly to eligible women.
This is set to replace the Lakshmi Bhandar scheme initiated by the previous government, which offered ₹1,500 per month to beneficiaries.
