Rajasthan’s Industries and Commerce Department has revised the approval framework under its One District, One Product and MSME policies to fast-track clearances and improve accessibility for applicants, as per news reports. The changes form part of the state’s broader push towards ease of doing business.
The earlier system required scrutiny and clearance through a district-level task force committee. That structure has now been discontinued, with approval authority transferred directly to General Managers of District Industries and Commerce Centres.
Industries and Commerce Commissioner Suresh Ola said “necessary improvements are being made” to ensure wider participation in department schemes.
He confirmed that scrutiny and approvals will now be handled “only by the General Managers,” a shift expected to “significantly expedite approvals.” The revised process allows applications to move forward without waiting for scheduled committee meetings.
The One District, One Product Policy 2024, Rajasthan MSME Policy 2024 and Rajasthan Export Promotion Policy 2024 have been fully digitised. Applications can now be submitted through Rajasthan’s SSO ID system or e-Mitra platform.
Since February 1, the department has received 245 applications, including 72 under ODOP, 77 under the MSME Policy and 96 under the Export Promotion Policy. The daily average has risen to about nine applications, compared with fewer than two per day under the earlier offline process.

By abolishing committee-based approvals and shifting fully online, Rajasthan has shortened the clearance chain for ODOP and MSME schemes, leading to a sharp rise in applications and faster processing at the district level.
