The Rajasthan Government has made a provision of ₹30 crore to support small entrepreneurs looking to market their products beyond local markets. The allocation forms part of the revised Budget for 2024-25 announced on 10 July 2024.
News reports suggest that the funding is meant to cover participation in trade fairs and exhibitions held within India and overseas.
Assistance is being routed through the MSME Policy 2024, Rajasthan Export Promotion Policy 2024, and the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme.
Entrepreneurs attending domestic trade events receive support under the MSME Policy. Those participating in international exhibitions are covered under the Export Promotion Policy.
In both cases, the support is provided as reimbursement of expenses incurred during participation.
Under the Export Promotion Policy 2024, exporters may receive reimbursement of up to 75% of eligible expenses, capped at ₹3 lakh.
The Market Support Scheme under the MSME Policy similarly reimburses costs related to participation in domestic trade fairs. To qualify, businesses must hold MSME registration and submit proof of participation.
Under the MSME Policy, 358 applications have been submitted. Of these, 261 have been approved and payments have been made to 192 applicants. 80 applications are under process, while 17 were rejected for not meeting eligibility requirements.
The Export Promotion Policy has received 149 applications, with disbursements made in 94 cases. Under the ODOP scheme, 351 applications were received. Of these, 306 were approved and 234 beneficiaries have received payments.
