PM-Kisan 22nd Instalment Date Announced: Farmers Must Check Their e-KYC to Get ₹2,000

The Central government has announced that the 22nd instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme will be released on March 13, 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to transfer the funds during his visit to Guwahati, Assam, according to an update on the official PM-Kisan portal.
Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹2,000 directly in their bank accounts through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The upcoming instalment is expected to benefit more than 9 crore farmers across India.
What is PM-Kisan?
PM-Kisan provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmer families, paid in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 each. The programme was launched in 2019 to support farmers with agricultural expenses and improve rural income stability.
To continue receiving benefits, beneficiaries must complete e-KYC verification. This can be done through OTP-based verification on the portal or through biometric authentication at the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC).
Over 1.13 Crore Beneficiaries Removed After Verification
Recent government data shows a significant drop in the number of beneficiaries receiving payments under the scheme due to verification drives.
| Instalment | Period | Beneficiaries |
| 11th Instalment | April–July 2022 | 10,48,45,164 |
| 21st Instalment | Aug–Nov 2025 | 9,35,79,869 |
The decline suggests that around 1.12–1.13 crore names have been removed from the PM-Kisan beneficiary database.
Authorities identified suspected ineligible beneficiaries based on the scheme’s exclusion criteria. Another major reason for removal is the failure to complete mandatory e-KYC verification, which the government has made compulsory for all registered farmers.
As per news reports, further verification may lead to additional removals in upcoming instalments as the government continues to clean up the beneficiary database.
How Can Farmers Check Beneficiary Status and Complete e-KYC?
Farmers can verify whether they are eligible to receive the upcoming instalment by checking their details on the PM-Kisan official portal. Here is the complete list of steps to check the beneficiary list:
- Visit the PM-Kisan website
- Click on ‘Beneficiary List’
- Select State, District, Sub-District, Block and Village
- Click ‘Get Report’ to view the village beneficiary list

Conclusion
With the PM-Kisan 22nd instalment scheduled for March 13, crores of farmers are set to receive the next ₹2,000 income support payment. At the same time, the government’s verification drive has significantly reduced the beneficiary list, removing over 1.13 crore ineligible names.
Farmers are advised to complete e-KYC, verify Aadhaar and bank details, and regularly check their beneficiary status to avoid payment delays in future instalments.
