Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Disburses ₹1,000 Crore to 10 Lakh Women

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has disbursed ₹1,000 crore to 10,00,000 women under the Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana, an initiative aimed at supporting entrepreneurship and self-employment among women across the state.
Large Scale Direct Benefit Transfer to Women
The scheme provides ₹10,000 to each beneficiary through the DBT system to help them begin income generating activities. Launched in September, ahead of the assembly elections, the initiative also saw virtual participation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during its inauguration.
According to the state government, 1,56,00,000 women have received support under the scheme so far.
Future Assistance for Women Entrepreneurs
Women who successfully use the financial aid for selfemployment will be eligible for additional assistance of ₹2,00,000 at a later stage. This incentive aims to encourage sustained entrepreneurial activity and long-term economic participation.
Authorities stated that only women registered with local Jeevika selfhelp groups are eligible and efforts are underway to help pending applicants complete the process.
