In line with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of leveraging technology to enhance the ‘Ease of Living’, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) rolled out the FASTag Annual Pass facility from 15th August 2025.
The service has been introduced across nearly 1,150 Toll Plazas on National Highways and Expressways, providing road users with a seamless, economical, and convenient travel option.

The initiative received an overwhelming response from commuters on its very first day. As of 7 PM on the launch day, around 1.4 lakh users purchased and activated the annual pass, while nearly 1.39 lakh transactions were recorded at toll plazas.
The Rajmargyatra App, which facilitates activation and monitoring, saw 20,000–25,000 concurrent users at any given point, with subscribers also receiving SMS confirmations for zero toll deductions.
To ensure smooth travel for Annual Pass users, NHAI has deployed officials and nodal officers at each toll plaza. Additionally, user queries are being addressed through multiple channels. The 1033 National Highway Helpline has been further strengthened with over 100 additional executives dedicated to resolving user grievances efficiently.
