Kharif Sowing Spurs June 2026 Tractor Sales Beyond 1,00,000 Units; Mahindra Leads

In June 2026, India’s tractor retail market reached over 1,00,000 units, marking a 25.3% increase compared to the previous year.
The surge was attributed to robust rural demand owing to the onset of the kharif sowing season, according to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) as per the news report.
June 2026 Tractor Sales Driven by Kharif Sowing
The retail market saw tractor sales peak at 1,00,818 units in June 2026, growing from 80,456 units in June 2025.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) led the market, accounting for substantial growth across its Mahindra and Swaraj brands.
M&M’s tractor division retained its lead with 24,327 units sold, up from 17,518 units in the previous year, elevating its market share from 21.77% to 24.13%.
Swaraj's division increased sales to 18,860 units from 14,292, boosting its market share from 17.76% to 18.71%.
Market Performance of Competing Brands
TAFE Ltd and Escorts Kubota’s Agri Machinery Group followed M&M in market positioning. Both brands alongside others like John Deere India and Eicher Tractors recorded positive growth.
The growing momentum in the farm equipment sector is largely supported by healthy agricultural activity and strong rural sentiment during the peak sowing season.
Various factors have contributed to the invigorated market scenario. Improved cash flows from the Rabi harvest favoured purchase sentiments, and state subsidies further supported this trend, particularly with agro permits in Odisha and subsidies released in Gujarat.
