India Inc’s Overseas Investment More Than Doubles to $3.37 Billion in April 2026

Overseas Direct Investment (ODI) by Indian companies rose to $3.37 billion in April, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India. The figure was up from $1.61 billion in March and $1.97 billion in April 2025.
The increase in outward investment came during a period marked by geopolitical tensions in West Asia and depreciation in the Indian rupee. Equity investments formed the largest component of the overseas commitments reported during the month.
Large Transactions Drive Overall Flows
A major portion of the April ODI was accounted for by a handful of companies. RBI data showed the top five firms contributed around 86% of the total outward investment during the month.
Coforge reported the highest overseas investment through 2 transactions valued at $1.371 billion and $994 million. Drugmaker Lupin committed $229 million towards overseas operations.
Other companies with sizeable investments included Wingify Software at $156.8 million, Knack Global at $82.97 million and Qlar Technology India with $54 million.
Mid-Sized Investments Continue
Apart from the larger transactions, several companies reported overseas investments in the $20 million-$40 million range. TVS Motor Company and Inventurus Knowledge Solutions invested $40 million each during the month.
Cipla committed $35 million overseas, while Fractal Analytics reported investments worth $28 million. Investments between $20 million and $26 million were also made by Titan Company, Man Industries and Sikka Ports.
Other companies reporting overseas investments included Zydus Lifesciences, Carborundum Universal and Huber group. Most remaining transactions during the month were below $10 million and spread across sectors and regions.
