Hettich, the German furniture fittings manufacturer, has expanded its manufacturing presence in India with the inauguration of a new production facility in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, as part of its strategy to strengthen the country’s role in its global manufacturing network.

New Automated Plant to Expand Manufacturing Capacity

The newly launched facility spans 25,700 square metres and is located inside Hettich’s larger 103,039 square metre manufacturing campus in Indore. It represents the company’s first dedicated unit in India for manufacturing undermount drawer runners.

With the commissioning of the new Quadro production plant, the company will have the capacity to manufacture around 5 million units of undermount drawer runners annually, further expanding its production capabilities in the country.

Indore Facility Strengthens Global Manufacturing Network

Hettich’s Indore campus already produces several premium furniture fittings such as hinges, sliding profiles, aluminium profiles and Cube Plus systems. The existing hinge manufacturing unit at the site has an annual production capacity of approximately 60 million hinges.

With the addition of the new plant, the Indore facility continues to evolve as one of Hettich’s major global manufacturing locations serving both domestic markets and exports.

India a Key Market in Hettich’s Growth Strategy

The new facility is part of Hettich’s overall investment of more than ₹2,000 crore in India. The company aims to combine advanced German engineering with local manufacturing capabilities to strengthen production, generate employment and expand exports.

Andre Eckholt, Managing Director of Hettich India, SAARC, Middle East and Africa, said the investment reinforces the company’s “Built to Lead commitment while steadily expanding our Made in India portfolio.” He added that India remains central to Hettich’s long-term global strategy, aligned with its vision of “Made in India, Made for the World.”
